Wednesday Weirdness

1. Is April 1st a fun day, or an annoyance?

Well,no one has really played a prank on me before (although last year JC and I played a prank on my best friend,and made her think I was pregnant.That was good!) so I've never had a reason to be annoyed.It's all done in good humor,so I think it's fun.

2. What is the best prank you ever pulled or had pulled on you?

Like I said,not really had any pranks played on me,or no good ones anyway.See top answer for the best one I pulled (she was actually mad at me for 2 days after that).

3. What do you think is the most underrated sexual act?

Nipple licking/sucking.But not biting.I hate biting.Before my boyfriend,I couldn't care less what was being done to my nipples,because they had no sensation in them at all.But after he started working his magic,they are super sensitive,and he can basically just look at them,and they are at attention.But the licking is always best,and highly appreciated.

4. What is your favorite website?

Ooh,difficult one.But it has to be Blogger,because I get into contact with great people through my blog.

5. What is the most annoying commercial on the air right now?

Oh hell,there's a bunch to choose from,but there's this stupid KFC ad where the chick wants another ice cream thingy,and throws a tantrum when her boyfriend says there's not enough time to get another one.It's a South African ad,and it irritates the crap out of me.Basically all our KFC ads suck big time.

6. If you were going to create a porn movie, please describe the title, premise and 1st sex scene.

The name would be "Teachers' Pet",and it would all play out in a private boys' school,with a bunch of hot female teachers,and even hotter (and very horny) school boys.Well,Grade 12 boys,at least.The first scene would be where the female teacher introduces herself to the new class at the beginning of the school year,and ends up doing a little 'demonstration' for them.What can I say?I have a depraved mind.

Aren't they pretty?

And I'm not being sarcastic.These women are all gorgeous and look like a million bucks.And that's in the before (photoshopping) pictures.The photoshopped ones?Not so nice.In fact they all look kind of the same,even though I bet in real life,they look nothing alike,but photoshopping creates this plastic,shiny,clonish look to all people,which is quite disturbing.Just like Cosmopolitan magazines covers,where,no matter who is the cover girl,the pose is always the same.It kind of looks like they use the same body every time,and just change the face and colours.Very weird.

Hallo!She had almost just had a baby,and she looks like that?She seriously doesn't need all that touching up.Maybe the photographer could just have had better lighting
I've always been jealous of Kate's supercreamy porcelain skin,and it's actually a very good thing for me to see that even she doesn't always look so picture perfect
I don't know who this is,but she's hot.Sure,she has a few wrinkles,but look at that body?I would kill a neighbour for a body like that
Faith Hill,gorgeous,gorgeous,gorgeous.So why do they feel the need to make her arm into a toothpick?
Christina looks beyond hot,and not even a gram overweight,so why are they slimming her down even more?
You can see they hardly did anything to Kim's face,which is perfect,but they always have to slim down the ass and thighs.Why?I mean,her thighs are still probably like miniature versions of mine.I think she looks good in both pics

It is really sad to me that we as a people have become so superficial,that we won't buy a magazine or a product if the spokesperson or covergirl doesn't look COMPLETELY perfect.Us,shall I say,'normal' women will never be able to get over our self esteem issues,because there will always be this very unattainable standard of beauty,that in most part,isn't even real,but rather computer-generated.

Monday Blues

Yes,again.I don't know if this is going to be a weekly thing now,but money woes and missing certain people has gotten me deep down in the dumps.

My weekend was very quiet and uneventful.We went to the optomotrist on Saturday and luckily everything is still a-ok,so that is a blessing.Other than that,I can't really think of too much else I feel blessed about.I sound like a whiny bitch.And you know what?I don't care.

But you all shouldn't have to be pulled into the dumps with me,so I'll leave you with some pictures from the weekend.

It's supposed to be autumn,but luckily there's still some pretty flowers around
Z (my niece),with her funky front tooth.She's trying to hide from my camera
Maya just can't resist the camera strings

The week in review

~ I just got my salary,and every single cent is already either spent,or has been put aside for its destination.No extras.So basically,I'm broke on payday.I rock.
{Ha,I wish}

~ I made soup last night for the very first time.It turned out totally awesome and my boyfriend ate a bunch of it.This marks the beginning of what I call 'grown-up cooking'.Don't know if that's a good or bad thing yet.
{Not my actual soup,but it kinda looked like this.I just know mine tasted way better than this one though}

~ Sleep has sucked ass the entire week.Since I have the bladder the size of a peanut,I tend to stop drinking anything at about 8pm.By 10:30pm,I've already went to the toilet twice,but yet,amazingly,I still have to get up at least 6 times during the night or I'll pee in my pants.This does not make for a very good sleeping pattern.

~ New Neighbour Girl and her buddies (which includes my boyfriends' youngest sister) woke me up at 3:16am by sitting in the backyard of the apartments,talking as loud as all hell.Now I get that they probably don't need to work,and can thus get in,drunk,at 3 in the morning on a week night,but I can't,so this *kind of* pissed me off.Oh,also,she burns her 'porch' light all through the freaking night,which shines through our bathroom,and into our bedroom.I need darkness and silence to sleep.That's why I have a pillow over my head most of the time.

~ Weird dreams.Not only has my bladder sabotaged my good sleep,but my subconscious seems to be in on the act now as well.I've had the weirdest dreams,every.single.night,this whole week.Serial killers,dirty ass apartments,making out with male co-workers,etc.All of that went down during my night time adventures.I miss those times where months would pass where I could never remember anything I've dreamt.Bliss.

~ There is this gorgeous black and grey longhaired stray cat that seems to think Maya's food bowls are his for the taking when we're not around.Last night,as I had to go to the toilet,once again,I saw his shadow outside our bedroom window (which is the only way in and out of the apartment),and so I went into the kitchen and hid Maya's food.My little girl was sleeping soundly behind her daddy's butt anyway,so she didn't mind.(Given that the soup I had made was Bacon and Bean soup,I think she had no choice but to sleep soundly behind her daddy's butt)

~ The weather is looking a little cooler.Which means that it is now 'comfortable'.Not cold or even very cool,but not that extreme 'just freaking boil me already' heat,either.Just comfortable.I love this weather,because I've never been a big fan of sweating in places that really shouldn't be sweating in the first place.It's just plain uncomfortable.

Exercise your laughing muscles

This chick thought she'd combine her treadmill workout with her love of 'Dance Dance Revolution'.

You just know the people on the treadmills next to her are seriously trying to not burst out laughing,because they don't even glance in her direction.Well,it's that or they are used to this craziness.

Either way,it's awesome.

This breaks my heart.

I got an award from Leetid

The lovely lady Leetid,gave me this award.I already received this award and did the challenge here,but would like to thank Leetid,and encourage you guys to check out her blog!

Thanks Leetid!

A little local flavor

Excuse my very video filled post,but I am in a total music mood this morning,and especially in the mood for some South African music.I never used to listen to SA music,but the industry has grown quite a lot in the last decade,and some quality groups and individuals have emerged.Take a listen,and let me know what you think!

Arno Carstens
,who was previously the frontman for Springbok Nude Girls (listen to the last song on this post).He's one of our original 'rocker' boys

"As long as I am here" by Prime Circle.
This band sounds very international to me,but have stayed local,and are true South African boys

"Colourful" by The Parlotones.
I never liked this band,until I saw the lead singer talk on a local show,and instantly loved his personality.They are English speaking,but have even braved one of the Afrikaans classics,"Lisa se klavier" by Koos Kombuis.This alone makes me respect them a lot

"I'd Like" by Freshly Ground.This band has actually won a Grammy,and they are a total melting pot of South African cultures and backgrounds

"Stuck in a small room" by Karen Zoid.
This is the Afrikaans chick that has had the most success in South Africa so far.She has lots of attitude,and couldn't be bothered with rules and regulations.She just does her thing,and even my brother loves her music

This is the song "Blue Eyes" by Springbok Nude Girls.
It's not the official video,but a compilation of photo's of South African scenery that a person made for their family.This woman is now living in Japan (because of work).I don't even know this woman,but with this song,and the pictures,even I would miss South Africa.And I live here.

{PS.Check out this link for a song by Blk Sonshine*}

Wednesday Weirdness

1.) What is your significant others worst habit?

He has an obsession with Castle Lager,it's the only alcohol he drinks.I can never get him to have any other type of drink with me,and it irritates the crap out of me when everyone is having a lovely cocktail or something,and he insists on having his Castle Lager.And the worst part,he doesn't drink it out of a glass if he has a choice,so he's always standing around with the can.OH.MY.WORD.I.CAN'T.STAND.IT.

2.) What piece of clothing that isn't lingerie or an undergarment do you have that you feel especially sexy/handsome in?

I have this green kimono-type shirt with a VERY low neckline,which accentuates my cleavage.And that always makes me feel super sexy.

3.) If you could drink ONLY two beverages for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

Water and Cream Soda.Cream Soda is the best cure for a hangover,and I always drink it when I go eat out,because I can't eat and drink alcohol together.And I also choose water because it doesn't really have a taste that you can get tired of,and is always good for you.

4.) What is your worst habit?

I have absolutely NO self control.I suck at controlling my urges,whether it be food,cigarettes,sex,whatever.If I want something,you can be sure I'm going to have it,because I just can't stop myself.

5.) Are you superstitious in any way?

Yes.This might sound silly,and I have nothing against them really,but I don't like seeing owls.Everytime I've seen an owl,someone I know,or someone that I know of,has died.That has given me a bit of a superstition.

6.) What kind of shopping do you hate doing most? (Grocery shopping, clothes shopping, shoe shopping, etc)

Definitely clothes and shoe shopping.My sizes are always sold out (I guess I'm a very common size).My mom always says I have frogs' feet,because they are short and wide,so getting pretty shoes is a damn near impossibility.If I have the money,I prefer shopping for things like stationery,books or toiletries.That's always fun.

7.) What was a “fad” you remember from your childhood?

Tamagotchi's.Those little electronic egg pets.We were obsessed with those for a while.And then they just sort of faded away into obscurity.

Today,I was sitting at work,being bored,and started stressing about how broke I'm going to be in April (my paycheck is basically already budgeted to the last cent,so nothing left for fun),when a thought struck me,like a lightning bolt.

April has a bunch of holidays.4 to be exact.Which means I will have 2 very long weekends off in April,and on April 22 South Africa is voting,and my sister just told me that will be a holiday as well.I sure hope so,that would be awesome!

And what will I be doing on all these off days?

Favorite Things Award

The hot mama Ashley from Dog Tags & Pearls,made my Tuesday morning a whole bunch better by giving me this award.

The rules of this award are that you have to show 7 things that you love.So here goes.

1. JC
We are the couple that I NEVER thought would happen,and now that we are together,I can never imagine a life without him.He irritates me somedays to the point where I actually want to strangle him in his sleep,but most days he is exactly what I need to be completely and utterly happy.Go figure.

2. My niece and nephews
These little munchkins are like my practice run for motherhood,even though I know every child is different,I kind of feel like if I can survive these 4,then I might just do ok one day.They are the most adorable creatures,each already with a very distinctive personality (and all very much endowed with the family 'stubborn' gene).No matter how naughty or nice they get,I love them bunches!

3. Cats

Anyone who has read my blog knows I LOVE cats.These beauties are all in my life,in some way or another,and I love them so much,because each of them brings something special into my life (especially my baby ~ in the top picture).

4. Pizza

When you ask someone what their favorite food is,they will most likely say pizza,and I wouldn't disagree.Pizza is the ultimate comfort food and can be prepared in so many different ways,that it actually blows my mind.The world would suck without pizza in it

5. Coca Cola ~ The Original

I've said it before,but I never used to drink Coke,until my enabler of a boyfriend moved in with me,and taught me the pleasures of this brown,fizzy elixir.I'm not a full-on addict yet,but I'm getting there

6. Staying in bed,reading

When I was in school,and there was a holiday or something,I'd do this all the time ~ you know,just lie in bed all day long,reading whatever book I was obsessing about at that time.I haven't done this in a long time (cos I have actually gotten some grown up responsibilities.Yuck),but am looking forward to winter time,when I am most definitely going to indulge in this love of mine again

7. Movies

When I love a movie,I can watch it hundreds of times.Literally.When I was a kid,I spent every weekend with my aunt.She had 'Grease','Pretty Woman','Gleaming the Cube' and 'Teen Wolf 2' on a video for me,and I watched these same movies every weekend.To the point where I,at 10 years of age,could recite basically all the lines of 'Pretty Woman'.Disturbing,but true.To this day,I love nothing more than to lie in front of the TV (preferably with my man by my side),and watch a bunch of good movies.

I am not going to tag specific blogs,because I think many of you have already received this award and done this tag.So if you have done this,please leave the link to your post in the comments,because I would love to read about all the things you guys love!

Close your Eyes and Sleep

Close your Eyes and Sleep
Originally uploaded by Ketosea
Ok,so I just got up like 3 hours ago,but since Sunday all I've wanted to do is sleep.No matter that I get like 9-10 hours of sleep in every night.I just feel really sleepy and tired the whole time.It sucks.

I want to be awake and aware.Of what,I don't know.But just in case something exciting happens.

I hate Mondays.Obviously.But I'm not too fond of most of the weekdays

This Monday sucks donkey balls all over the place.No real particular reason,I'm just not in the mood for this week,at all.I have a huge headache,which I didn't have when I left home this morning,but developed throughout the morning,even though work is anything but stressful at the moment.So where the hell this headache is coming from,I have no idea.I also had major tooth ache the whole weekend,which makes me completely pissed off,because as you know,I was only at the dentist like 2 WEEKS AGO,and she said everything was FINE.Huh,yeah right.

I wanted to colour my hair yesterday,but ended up spending the whole day with JC's parents,which is always awesome (and they made the best lunch!),but now I'll probably not get another chance to colour my hair the rest of the week (mostly because I'm too lazy to do it after work).

I have no idea what to make for dinner,because whatever I think of making,it seems overdone and like we've eaten it every night the last month.When you have to make food for a hungry man (who only eats once a day),on a VERY restricted budget,ideas kind of become very few,very far between.And I'm not really a fountain of ideas to begin with anyway.

Saturday we are going to the optomotrist,which means a shitload of money on new contacts,cleaning fluid,new glasses and also,maybe new glasses for JC.He doesn't have medical aid,so everything has to be paid cash,which is a nightmare.Not only that,but I have to go to actual clothes shops to look for winter boots and some winter clothes.I hate shopping for clothes.I love shopping for toiletries,books,pet stuff,etc. but I HATE shopping for clothes.And the selection available is quite restricted (remember the very strict budget?).

Mostly I'm just irritated with nothing in particular,but when I feel like this,I usually will find something to fixate my aggression and feelings on,whether that something deserves to be the target or not.

At least this little someone was extra aborable this weekend,and slept on her mommy's lap a lot.Maybe she could feel my bad mood,and wanted to make me feel better.Hopefully I will soon.

(That's her daddy's pj pants which she proceeded to sleep on for the rest of the morning)

I love the crazy/creepy

Since I can remember,I've had a bit of a fascination with insane asylums/mental hospitals.Not necessarily the diseases themself,but the buildings the patients were housed in.This fascination all started when,when I was about 9 years old,we visited my mom's home town.My mothers' mom (who died before I was born),worked her whole life as a cook in the Tower Mental Hospital,which is just as creepy looking a place as they make these types of places look in the movies.

My mom took me to look at the buildings,which are in the middle of town,and now being used as offices.The hospital has been moved outside of town,beside the river,and there is this really eerie looking hanging bridge you can cross if you want to go there on foot.But the buildings in town,although they are now used for commercial purposes (there's a lawyers' office,dentist and even political office) still looks exactly the same as it did when it was used to house the crazies (no offense).As we went around the back,i saw these big metal cages,and asked my mom what they were,and she said they were like giant play pens for the really disturbed patients.They would be put in the cages one at a time,to get some 'fresh air'.My mom told me that lots of times the people walked around naked,because the doctors were afraid they could hang themselves with pieces of clothing.

The weirdest/coolest story my mom ever told me,was about how the more sedate patients would sometimes go in the yard and work in the garden,and how the one woman attacked another patient with a spade,nearly decapitating the other woman,stripped down naked and made a run for it,and how my grandma (who was quite a big,tough lady) had to run after her to try and catch her.That story is so cool to me,because it gives me an idea of what type of person my grandma was,and it sounds tailor-made for a movie.

Check out these pictures by Andre Govia on flickr.They are so very creepalicious.Love it!

PS.Can you tell I watched 'Gothika' again last night?

Friday hasn't come a day too soon,because even though I hate wishing my life away,I am so ready for a relaxing weekend to spend at home just doing nothing with my kitteh and my love.Since it's getting a little cooler at night now,cuddling is my no.1 priority,and I don't get enough cuddles in if I have to be up and going at 06:30 every morning.So I'm lying in tomorrow.

First off,Maya has joined the House Panthers,which is a blog specifically for the lovely black kittehs of the blogging world.She's still only a mini one,but I'm hoping everyone will enjoy her contributions over there.

Secondly,the lovely Namine has given me an award!Thank you so much Namine,this means a lot to me,since I adore your blog,and read it every single day.I like you LOTS too!

I'm tagging ~

In the words of the very poignant Lloyd Christmas,in regards to your blogs:

Cuteness personified

I put a spell on you

It seems like today is a video type of day for me,but I was on youtube,and like always,I end up just looking at old music videos.

Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of my all-time favorite bands.Their songs are just so easy to listen to,and are the perfect musical compliment to any party.Unless you've got a bunch of teeny boppers attending,of course.

Seriously,take this song above for example.Doesn't that just make you want to drink a very strong drink,turn the lights down low and slow dance,half-naked with your man?Or maybe it just has that effect on me.I can be weird sometimes.So I've been told.

True love

Max is a real gentleman,Shore is a lucky girl.I bet Adar was a bitch,and is now super jealous of her ex and his hot new piece.

Stranger in my house

I don't understand
You look just like the man
In the picture by our bed
The suspence is pounding and clouding up my head
I'm checkin' your clothes
And you wear the same size shoe
You sleep in his spot
And you're driving his car
But I don't know just who you are

There's a stranger in my house
It took a while to figure out
There's no way you could be who you say you are
You gotta be someone else
Cuz he wouldn't touch me like that
And he wouldn't treat me like you do
He would adore me, he wouldn't ignore me
So I'm convinced there's a stranger in my house

I'm not sure who you are
Don't see your shadow around when you walk
Ain't leavin' no kisses
Goodbye with no words
If these walls could talk
They would have nothing to tell

So what could it be?
Is there someone immitating me?
Could she be taking my place?
Look me in the face
And tell me that I'm wrong
When I say...

There's a stranger in my house
It took a while to figure out
There's no way you could be who you say you are
You gotta be someone else
Cuz he wouldn't touch me like that
And he wouldn't treat me like you do
He would adore me, he wouldn't ignore me
So I'm convinced there's a stranger in my house

Pop quiz
Tell me where we first kissed
Tell me where my spot is
Tell me if I liked it, loved it
Or could it be
That the stranger is me
Have I changed so drastically?
Is it I want more for me?
And you remain the same

There's a stranger in my house
It took a while to figure out
There's no way you could be who you say you are
You gotta be someone else
Cuz he wouldn't touch me like that
And he wouldn't treat me like you do
He would adore me, he wouldn't ignore me
So I'm convinced there's a stranger in my house

Many moons ago,when my bestie and I were still in school,we would listen to club music and dance the shit out of it,in the privacy of our rooms of course.This song was one of those that we frequently listened to (along with such gems as Aqua ~ great taste huh?).But back then we just liked the beat of the song,and even though we sang along like parrots,we never really understood,or tried to understand the meaning of the words.It's only today,with all the news and stories about abuse,that I've realised what this song is really about.

I'm a lucky girl,I've never had to deal with any type of abuse.My dad never so much as lay a hand on any of us,and was the most loving father ever.My brother is so deeply in love with his wife,that I think she's the one wearing the pants in that marriage,and my brother-in-law is like a cuddly teddy bear.No violence or hate anywhere there.But my boyfriends' history is very different.He grew up with a father that abused both him and his mother,even going so far as to hit my boyfriends' mom in the belly while she was pregnant with his little sister.Thank goodness my boyfriends' mom got out of that horrible marriage when JC was 6,and went on to marry an amazing man,who is still making her happy today.But the damage is done.My poor baby still has lots of issues with the abuse he witnessed when he was a little boy,and he tries to be strong about it,but I can see how much it bothers him,still to this day.A lot of people believe being abusive is hereditary,in your genes,but like I told JC,you always have a choice.Only a coward abuses people who are weaker than themselves.Only a coward would hit a four year old boy and break his nose,simply because that boy was trying to stand up for his mom.

But,karma (if you believe in it) can be quite a bitch.JC's father was murdered by highway robbers when JC was 17.His father was a long distance truck driver at the time,when 4 men hijacked his truck,tied him up on a railway,tortured him,and finally shot him to death.I don't wish such a horrible death on anyone,but it makes me wonder.Maybe sometimes things happen for a reason.A really fucked up reason,but a reason none the less.

Criggo = crikey!

A very funny twitterer I follow,alerted me to this site.It's very funny,and since I'm one of those people that actually still read a real newspaper every morning {even though it's mostly for the obituaries ~ weird,I know},I really like all the amusing newspaper articles they have on there.

{These two are my favorites ~ it's pure coincidence they both have to do with male genitalia}

PLEASE!No holidays!

Listen,I can get why someone can be afraid of everything from small animals,heights,clowns,birds,cars,whatever.But how in the hell can anyone be afraid of holidays?!Like,do you get a panic attack as soon as you go to some exotic island and lie there on the beach with a cocktail in one hand and a hot dude in the other?How does that work?I would love to know how people feel that have this phobia.

Go here to see some other,weird {to say the least} phobias.

Doesn't this look just horrible?And super scary too.

Wednesday Weirdness

1.) In your opinion, what is your biggest character flaw?

I don't believe in myself enough.I believe that if I was more confident and assertive,I would get a lot further in life.Oh,and also,I talk WAY too much.That tends to get on people's nerves.

2.) What do you think is one of the worst television shows ever created?

Oh hell,there are a LOT to choose from,but I would have to say...any and all game shows.First of all,the presenters are always super irritating douchebags,the contestants make me want to tear my hair out,and I get beyond pissed when other people win a lot of money/prizes while I get nothing.Pisses me right off.

3.) Have you ever ended up injured after trying an interesting new sex position?

Oh yes.My groin was seriously incapacitated after a particularly vigorous session.It wasn't so much a new move,as that the move went on for VERY long,and my legs kind of got spread out for a very extended period,in a very extended position.Very bad.Very sore,for like a week afterward.I couldn't tell my mom why I was walking funny.But I think she had her suspicions.TMI Tuesday anybody?

4.) How crucial do you think communication is between you and a regular sexual partner? Do you talk often about what works, what doesn't, things you want to try, etc or do you keep the discussions to a minimal and let the physical flow as it may?

We talk about it quite often,but not like into minute details.I don't really have to tell him what I like,since he can kind of figure that out from my loudness factor during sex.The louder I get,the better the sex is.Needless to say,I'm glad our next door neighbour (on our bedrooms' side) is half deaf.On the other hand,JC is very quiet and always looks very intense,so I ask him a lot of questions about his likes and dislikes.It keeps things interesting.

5.) Who are your favorite comedic actors/actresses?

There are a bunch I like,and so I can't really choose just one.But if I have to, I'd say

Will Ferrell

Tina Fey {big up to SNL!}.

6.) In what way(s) do you wish your childhood was different?

I wish that I had done more sports.I was a real bookworm,and preferred to forego much physical activity {as demonstrated by my utter inabillity to jog for even 5 minutes at a time}.Also,I wish I'd spent even more time with my dad.I regret being so pissy with him sometimes.

7.) Cotton Candy; Delicious treat or disgusting mess?

Delicious treat,for like 3 bites.After that it just gets to be a little too much.

{Questions courtesy of Wednesday Weirdness}

LOL Cats

I read a while back on some a-hole's blog that he thinks people who put up pictures of LOL Cats are retarded and no one wants to look at them.Well,then I guess I'm super retarded,and I understand if you guys don't want to look at them.

But I'm gonna post 'em anyway!'Cos I loves 'em so much!

And so the planning begins

My sister and her boyfriend got engaged in November last year,and after much hooing and hahing,they've settled on the date ~ September 5,which falls in the South African spring,and is a really lovely time of the year.My sis asked me to be her maid of honour,which is,of course,a huge honour,but I am the first to admit I am not very good at planning stuff,especially important stuff.I start to stress out completely and leave everything until the last moment,and then everything ends up being a disaster.

But not this time.I'm already planning her kitchen tea/bachelorette party.I'm thinking beginning of June,which is 3 months before the wedding.Now,I know that's a long time before the wedding,but most of the women coming to this party,live at least 4 hours away,so I want to have the party well in advance of the wedding,so that they don't have to make the long trip very close together in time (say like in August and September again).

I got these 'specifications' for the duties of the maid of honour,which makes everything seem so easy,but I'm already plutzing just reading this list.

The traditional responsibilities and duties for the maid of honour:

Before the Wedding Day:

Helps Bride select her wedding day attire {we got the fabric and pattern,now my boyfriends' mom just has to make the actual dress}
Helps select the costumes for the Bridal Party {it will only be me and my man in the bridal party,so nothing special.We'll basically be wearing black.My sisters' orders.She loves black}
Assists in addressing invitations and announcements {we already made the invitations,just have to mail it in about 2 months' time}
Attends pre-wedding parties, plans and hosts a shower or party for the Bride or couple {see rant above}
Assists Bride with going away clothing and luggage {I'm also helping them plan where to go for their honeymoon.More on that at a later stage}
Coordinates the bridesmaids and their tasks. Including fittings for dresses {there will,thankfully,be no bridesmaids}
Helps keep track of gifts received and thank you notes written {I love writing thank you notes,but to be honest,my sister is hoping for a boat-load of cash,not gifts}
Normally pays for all wedding day attire with the exception of floral accessories {Ha,I don't think so.Unless my sister wants a hobo-themed wedding}
Helps with the decorations {my dads' cousins' wife ~ phew ~ is taking care of all that.She is a super party planner,and is also doing the catering.An all-in-one package}
Supplies "Something borrowed" and "Something blue" if requested {Ok,I can't wait to do this,but you guys have to give me some ideas on what to give that is "blue" and "borrowed"}
