Finally Friday!

I shouldn't complain, because this week seriously flew by!The weeks really just blend into each other at the moment, but again,I shouldn't complain, because I really want to have the summer over. This heat is making me sick.Literally.

{Random thoughts on this lovely Friday the 13th}

~ From last night I'm sick as a dog.My head nearly burst (at least it felt that way),my throat hurts like hell, and my body aches like I've been Chris Browned.

~ My best friend is not in a good place right now,and I feel really helpless, because being so far apart,I can't really do anything for her.

~ Some stray cats are invading our apartment during the day (while we're at work) and eating my Maya's catfood.I don't know how to stop this, and I can't close up the whole place, otherwise she would have to stay inside the whole time, and she would wreck the place if we did that.

~ I've got to help my sis make her wedding invitations tomorrow (we have decided,in order to save money,to make them ourselves). But feeling the way I do now,I'm seriously not in the mood,at all.

~ I still haven't cleaned our apartment after the horrible winds of the past week, and everything is still covered in dust, and I sure as hell am not going to clean it this weekend.I think I'm just going to stay in bed the entire time, that way I don't have to walk in or touch the dirt.

~ I am about ready to kill the woman I work with.Like I mentioned,I am not feeling well, and she is just pissing me off even more, because I am having to act as her bloody personal assistant.I'm constantly taking messages for her and doing her job, because she is either not here,or is chatting with someone on the phone. She,honest to God,sometimes spends more than half an hour on the phone with her husband or friends. And this while she's supposed to be the receptionist.I know I've talked about this a lot,but it just keeps pissing me off!

~ If there's one thing I hate more than summer,it's being ill in summer. As if the fever I have isn't warm enough,it has to be astronomically hot outside as well. And there is no place to hide from the heat.Aircons just don't seem to always do the trick, and besides,we don't have aircons everywhere we go,so anytime you leave the house, you are assaulted with extreme heat.I hate it!

Well, that's about enough complaining for now.Until I can think of some more stuff I'm unhappy about.

I'm just not that into Summer

People can be seperated into two very different types of people. It's quite simple. On the one side you have winter people and on the other you have summer people.

I am a definite winter-person.There is nothing I love more than being at home, sitting on the couch, watching a good movie, all snuggled up,while the rain is pouring outside,or it is freezing,to the point where I have to wear not only my pj's,a coat, two pairs of socks and a scarf, but also this cooky looking cap my mom knit for me a few winters back.I love it,and can't wait each year for the weather to turn cold.I literally count down the days, until it is supposed to start getting colder.

Why do I love winter more than summer you ask?Well, that's pretty easy to answer, and here are some of my reasons:

1.You can warm yourself up,but you can't make yourself cool in the summer (we only have an ancient aircon in our apartment, and that is only in the living room,so if you go into the bedroom, you're shit out of luck. Also,we don't have a pool,so swimming is out of the question.)

2.There's no sweating.None, except when you're maybe exerting yourself during sexy times with your lovie.Which isn't the bad kind of sweat anyway. What is the 'bad' kind of sweat do you ask?Well,it's the kind where you just got out of the shower, you've hardly done anything more than put on your make up or tied your shoes, and yet the sweat is already running down your back into all the cracks and crevices that seem to be made to catch your sweat.

3.No mosquitoes. Now this is a BIG reason to love winter, because I've got to tell you,I am dying from the itchiness of about 20 mosquitoe bites right now,all centred around my ankles.Either the mosquitoes are loving my B- blood type,or I am just inherently pre-disposed to be bitten more by the buggers, because my boyfriend, who sleeps next to me every single night, has yet to sport a single, freaking bite.Little assholes.

4.You have an excuse to stay in and procrastinate.Because to be honest,I love to do nothing.I can do nothing pretty much all the time, and not even feel the tiniest bit guilty about it.Unfortunately, doing nothing seems to be frowned upon by a lot of the people I know, because a lot of them seem to feel like if you stop doing something for one minute, you will fall down dead, right there on the spot.So come winter time, when it is cold and raining,it is so lovely to decline offers for parties, bbq's and other types of gatherings where things are required to be done, based on the fact that it is too cold to leave the house.Excuse given, problem solved.

Now,I'm not saying that summer is completely bad,I mean almost everything in life has some good in it.I do like the fact that the day is longer in summer and that there are more pretty flowers about to look at.Also there is nothing cuter than little kids only walking around in diapers because it's too hot for clothes.Especially if they have those little Buddha bodies (like my one nephew).

However,I am a VERY fair-skinned,originally (although I have dyed my hair so many times,my hair is now quite uncertain what its natural color is supposed to be) red haired,green-eyed girl,so living in a very sunny, warm country like South Africa, can be like a death sentence to me.Death by UVB and UVA rays.I have the freckles and messed up skin to show for years of trying to survive summers in South Africa. Not unlike some people have battle scars to show in which wars they've been.

So,after years of trying to turn myself into a tan girl,I finally gave up,and have, for the last 8 years or so,turned myself into a spectacle every time I do something summery like going swimming or going to an outside bbq.I wear longsleeved shirts, slatherings of 50 SPF sunblock,a variety of hats and huge sunglasses.Even my friends (who all,by the way, have lovely tanned, dark skin) laugh at me every time and actually make fun of me.But alas, this is my curse, and I will have to carry it,for all eternity.

But I guess covering up is a MUCH better alternative to looking like this.

Weight - the neverending story

Forget that whole story about the dragon and the boy and the talking, walking mountains. My weight is definitely the neverending story of my life.Ever since I can remember,I've been overweight. There are lots of family members of mine, who are overweight as well.It really isn't a mystery how I got to be this way.Eating a lot,and eating lots of unhealthy food, and also not exercising. At all.

I'm not one of those fatties that try to blame my emotions or Macdonalds or whatever.I accept full responsible for who and what I am today. What I can't understand however,is why what I look like, should bother anybody else?Ok,so I'm no gorgeous piece of art to look at.Obviously.But why do some people feel the need to ridicule fat people,or act like fat people are the disgusting fungus that grows underneath trashcans that are left out too long?

Everyone can't be the same, everyone can't be tall,blonde,blue-eyed and gorgeous.Even people who are rake thin, aren't always very beautiful. They are just thin. Why does weighing less, make people think they are superior to fat people?

Does fat automatically make you slow, dumb, crazy, pathetic and disgusting?I'm obese, but I'm nowhere near not being able to move or do stuff thin people do.I probably just won't look as elegant doing those things. But I'm not afraid to do anything anyone else does, just cause I'm fat.

I understand being fat is supposed to be unhealthy. But that is also a common misconception. Not ALL fat people are unhealthy. My best friend for the last 16 years, is a very thin girl, who has always been very slim, and also very active.Well, she has a lot more health problems than I do.So if being fat was always the cause of being unhealthy, why is she not an extremely healthy person? As I was saying,I understand people think that being fat makes you very unhealthy, but my ultimate question has to be "what the fuck does that have to do with anyone but myself?"

I don't judge people with bad habits. To each their own.If you're super thin and not eating for days on end,I'm not going to look at you in disgust and think about how unhealthy you look.By God,if you want to starve yourself,go ahead. It's your problem.I'm not going to try and make you eat.So why do thin people always assume fat people want to be thin? The only reason I ever consider trying to lose weight,is when thin people break my confidence down and make me feel like shit.Otherwise I'm a very happy, content person.

But I guess to some people, other people's happiness is less important than what they look like. That makes me very sad.

I can't function like this

If there's one thing I really hate,it's having a headache when it's a hot day. When it's hot,and my head feels like a 18 wheeler truck is driving as fast as it can,in big circles, everything starts to irritate me.

Ok, so it is Monday, first day of work after 4 somewhat leisurely days off,and I'm already working hard trying to get all the car parts sorted for stocktake at the end of February, and what happens to make it all that much nicer?I get a major headache.Alright,I'm exaggerating, but that's also a side effect of my headache.

This one is more like a slow-moving train. You just wana push it along and let the damn thing go away, but it doesn't go away.I'm thinking I might be a bit dehydrated or something, seeing as a dull headache is often a symptom of dehydration. But to be very honest with you,I hate drinking water.Unless I'm extremely, extremely thirsty and there is absolutely no fizzy drinks around, I would never drink water. And I hardly ever eat vegetables or fruit, so I should actually be quite happy that I'm still alive, and just stop complaining about stupid headaches.

But you see, complaining is also a side effect of me having a headache!
